The 79th day of racing began this Tuesday morning with a general sense of impatience. The finish is approaching, but in no way is Giancarlo Pedote, skipper of the IMOCA Prysmian Group, easing off the pace… Quite the contrary in fact! With less than 1,000 miles to the finish line, the sailor is more focused than ever on rounding off the Vendée Globe in style: “I’m extremely focused on the finish. I want to do things properly right to the wire. I’m constantly keeping my eyes on my watch, like I do in an inshore regatta. As such, I must be watchful and flat out! I’m remaining humble and focused right to the last.”   The question on everyone’s lips of late of course is this: “So, what’s the latest ETA?!” (estimated time of arrival) Well, even though this famous ETA is continually changing, we reckon that Giancarlo Pedote is set to finish early doors on Thursday. However, that’s only an estimate of course!   With regards to the second key question: “So how do you track the finish?!”, that’s easier to answer:
  • TV: continually on the news channels
  • LIVE VIDEO: on the Vendée Globe social networks and on the @Prysmian Ocean Racing Facebook page
  • Live Tweets and regular stories: on the Twitter and Instagram pages of the @Prysmian Ocean Racing project
  A presto Giancarlo!!!
